Mr Marc Saxer, Resident Director
Marc is Resident Director of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Thailand office. Before coming to Bangkok, he coordinated the global security, climate and energy policy working lines of the Dialogue on Globalization program at FES headquarters in Berlin. Marc's work focuses on governance mechanisms and democracy assistance. Prior to joining the FES, he implemented projects for Transparency International and for FES in Pakistan. Marc Saxer holds a Masters of Law from Hamburg University and a Master in Political Science from Free University of Berlin.

Ms Preeda Sirisawat, Academic Advisor
Preeda initially joined FES as programme officer working on women's empowerment and gender for more than ten years and is currently responsible for two working areas on security sector governance/reform and on labour rights and trade unions.

Ms Oranutt Narapruet, Programme Officer
Oranutt (Fai) joined FES in 2011 to oversee the organisation’s social democratic governance and economic policy programmes in Thailand. Previously, she worked in London as Development Director at the Philanthropy Bridge Foundation and as Development Officer at the Charities Aid Foundation. Oranutt holds a Master’s degree in Global Politics and Global Civil Society from the London School of Economics, and a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Anthropology from Durham University.

Ms Thatsanavanh Banchong, Programme Officer
Thatsanavanh Banchong (Kai) joined FES office in 2008. She holds a Master Degree in Sociology from Toulouse II University (France) and also a Master of Cooperation and Development in the South East Asia programme at Lille III University (France). Her working areas are civic education, youth and gender.

Ms Karin Biber, Financial and Administrative Manager
Karin has been FES’ Thailand resident accountant since 1982. She was born in Northern Germany, but has spent most of her adult life in Thailand and speaks fluent Thai.

Ms Chanapa Chaiyarak, Programme Assistant and Office Secretary
Chanapa has joined FES Thailand 17 years ago. She is supporting the programme officers with the preparation, the implementation and the follow-up of activities within the country and abroad. She is in charge of coordinating all regular secretarial tasks and office management. Chanapa also assists the Resident Director in official matters.

Ms Panida Pinmun, Assistant
Panida (Buk) has provided invaluable general assistance to the FES Thailand staff since 2005, being responsible for the office’s wellbeing and playing a supporting role during events and activities to ensure their smooth running.

Mr Sanit Pimsawat, Driver and Assistant
Sanit has been with the FES Thailand since 1995, and on top of being the most reliable driver in Bangkok, he helps out with office logistics and maintenance issues.
