Since its establishment in 1992, the Women Workers’ Unity Group (WWUG)
– an independent network of women labour unionists from the private
industrial sector and state enterprises – has been active in
organizing campaigns and activities on women workers’ issues. The
group is one of the oldest partner organizations of FES, working in
the areas of “women” and “labour”. Changes in the socio-political
situation of Thailand during the past few years made it necessary
for the WWUG to review and adjust its vision, missions and working
strategies. Since effective communication and good coordination
skills are important keys to their success, the FES supported the
WWUG by organizing training for
“Strategy
Planning and Team Work Strengthening”
for its committee members, which took place in April 2006. Various
participatory training methods such as lectures, brainstorming with
cards, working groups, role-play, SWOT Analysis, recreation and
games, were applied in this activity that aimed to improve the
capacity of the WWUG and to strengthen its coordination team.
